KLS Legacy Foundation
The KLS Legacy Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, was established to honor the legacy of Kendall L. Simmonds, Professor Emeritus at the University of Southern California.
About the Foundation
Established in 2018, the Professor Kendall L. Simmonds, Sr. Legacy Foundation provides critical support to USC students concentrating in the fields of finance and/or accounting and serves communities of color with a focus on Black/African Americans.
Scholarships
Undergraduate and graduate students at USC who are of Black/African American descent, majoring in Accounting or Finance are eligible to apply. Students will receive $3,000 to be used towards tuition or other costs of attendance.
Mentorships
Students are matched with mentors in their fields of interest along with tutors to guide them along their academic journey. Students will be connected with accomplished USC Marshall and Leventhal alumni.
Internships
Scholars are matched with internships with identified firms and organizations to enhance and encourage long-term professional development. Students will be placed at leading accounting and finance firms.

The KLS Legacy Scholarship Fund succeeds through support from donations and USC alumni participation as mentors. Please consider supporting our work by providing a tax deductive donation towards the scholarship fund or volunteering your time as a mentor for scholarship recipients.
